Children and Social Media: The Challenges, hosted by Kimberly Lewis (Episode 1)
In this three-part podcast Kimberly Lewis, alongside three parents with school-aged children, examines the challenges and peer pressure faced when providing children with access to social media and the immense need for assistance in establishing good digital hygiene and creating good digital citizens. This podcast offers a very personal look into these challenges and what parents are doing to confront cyberbullying.
During our time together, we will have a conversation with three parents – all of whose kids are between the ages of 5 and 10 yrs old. Our topic of conversation is their children’s access to social media, cyberbullying, and their request for proactive information on both topics. Throughout our conversation, we will touch on some best practices they have implemented for their own families, and participants will share extremely personal experiences regarding their children and cyberbully. I hope you find the conversation eye-opening and informative. There is no doubt that this topic is here to stay, and parents are in need of your assistance as they navigate the unknowns. This segment of the conversation will provide insight into how these parents navigate the pressure to provide their children with access to devices and social media.
